The cottage is walk in waterfront, so you can enjoy all the sunny days playing in the lake, or lounging on the dock, just steps from the back door.
The lake is roughly 40ft deep at its deepest point, which means it is deep enough for boating, but shallow enough that it warms up in the summer for refreshing swimming. Some days the lake reached 78 degrees this year (2024).
The lake is also generally on the calmer side, with the water only get slightly rough when there are lot of people out on the lake. Otherwise, it is perfect for paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, & fishing.
The cottage has a paddle board, kayak, canoe, and paddle boat available for renters to use and you are of course welcome to bring your own boats and seadoos.

One thing Minden is known for is its extensive system of trails for atvs, jeeps, side by sides and more!
The cottage is just a 10 minute road ride over to the Minden Offroad Park where you can enjoy various types of landscapes like rock climbing, muddy skeg, deep watery mud holes & more.
The HATVA trails also run all over Minden, connecting over to Haliburton, Gooderham, Kinmount, Baysville, Dorset and so on.

Hiking/ Walking Trails
There is no shortage of walking trails in town and on the outskirts the boast amazing scerene views.
Just a short drive down the road from the cottage is the Minden Scenic look out point overlooking the Town of Minden. The views here in the Fall are amazing!
A few other hiking trails include the Ganaraska Trail, Sheldon Lake, Scrabble Mountain Loop, Snowden Park Loop, & more.
