What do you need to bring with you?
Linens & pillows for the beds.
Towels and Beach Towels
Toilet paper and other toiletries. (Some toilet paper is provided)
All food and drinks. Some spices and condiments are supplied.
Bottled water. The cottage well water is safe to drink, but most prefer bottled water over the tap water.
Life Jackets. There are some supplied life jackets located in the basement, that you may use at your own risk.
Fishing Poles, Tackle, Bait.
Insect Repellant and Sunscreen.
Golf Clubs (3 courses within 15 minutes of the cottage)
Is the cottage dog friendly?
Yes! The cottage experience is not compete without your furry friend! We allow 2 dogs per rental. Any additional dogs are subject to approval and an addition $50 fee per dog.
What is the shoreline/ waterfront like?
The shoreline is a sandy gradual walk in. The waterfront is weed free, and the lake bottom is a silky ground. Though the waterfront is rock and debris free, we still recommend watershoe to all the little ones, just incase!
Do you have a cleaning fee?
We have worked our cleaning fee into the rental cost, so it is not an additional fee. A reminder that even though we have a cleaner, you are still expected to leave the cottage in the same, if not better condition than you found it in.
What is the security deposit?
The security deposit is a fee charged at the final payment for the rental, that is held in the event of rules broken, or damages done to the cottage. If there is not issues at the end of your rental, the security deposit will be returned to you via e-transfer within 7 days of the end of your rental. Our typical secruity deposit is $1,000, but we do lower it to $700 for rentals that are shorter than 6 nights, 7 days.
What is the booking process?
We book directly through us (the owners) rather than through a booking site. This is to save both of us unnecessary additional fees. Once we recieve your email with your requested dates, we will respond as soon as possible advise whether those dates or available or offer alternative dates. If you wish to go ahead and book, we will ask for details about your group (ages, names, etc) and we will forward our contract, that must be filled out prior to any deposits being made. We will review the contract and advise whether the booking is approved. At the time if approval, 50% of the rental fee is due. Your dates are not secured until this initial 50% deposit is received. Then, 30 days prior to the start of your rental the remaining 50% plus the security deposit is due. The rental process is contactless, so 7 days prior to your arrival, we will send you an email with our welcome package which contains information about the cottage, the town, emergency numbers etc, as well as you door code. This code will be to the garage man door. You will enter through the garage to the house. The door code you receive will be active only during your rental period.
What times do have to arrive by and leave by?
Check in is 3pm, and check out is 11am. Typically our rentals go from Friday to Friday, but this may vary depending on the type of rental you have booked.
Is there laundry access in the cottage?
At this time, we do not allow renters to use the laundry. This may change in the future, but for right now, no.
What is and is not supplied?
The cottage arrival ready, with a newly renovated stocked kitchen. All dishware, cooking dishware, and appliances are provided. We provide some toilet paper, and cleaning supplies. 1 tank of propane is provided per rental. Some condiments and spices are provided as well.
We do not supply , bed linens, pillows, towels, beach towels, or fire wood.
Is there a hot tub?
At this time, there is not a hot tub on the property. We are working on getting this added as soon as possible.
Is the bunkhouse heated/AC?
The bunkhouse is equipped with hydro and has a space heater in it for the cooler nights. As for A/C, at the moment we have an appliance in there that cools the space by blowing air over frozen bottles, which does a relatively good job, as well as a standing fan to keep you cool in the summer.
What water toys are included in the rental?
A paddle board, canoe, kayak, tubes and a paddle boat, as well as some life jackets of various sizes are included in your rental. We are continuously adding to these amenities, so there may be new toys added in the future.
