Cottage Rules

  1. Check in is Friday at 3pm or later

  2. Check out is Friday at 11am. Absolutely no late check out times, as our cleaner needs adequate time to ensure the cottage is clean for the next rentals. -

  3. Recycling and Garbage cans are provided during your stay, however, you must remove all food before you leave and take all garbage and recycling with you at the end of your stay. Failure to do so will result in the forfeit of your entire security deposit.

  4. If you have been allowed a dog(s), you are responsible for the cleanup of the grounds, and cottage from your pet. Failure to do so will result in the forfeit of $200 from your security deposit. Dog poop bags have been provided for your convenience.

  5. The inside of the cottage is a NO SMOKING area. Smoking is welcome outside of the cottage, but you are responsible for discarding the remnants properly. Failure to cleanup any smoking remnants will result in the loss of $100 from your security deposit. The garage is included in the NO SMOKING area.

  6. All outdoor furniture is to stay outside and all indoor furniture is to stay inside and where it is located with the exception of the outdoor patio cushions which need to be brought inside if there is rain and/or heavy wind and at the end of your stay. The deck patio cushions are stored in the deck box, please bring inside any cushions that do not fit in the box. Please bring the cushions for the dock lounge chairs into the basement under the stairs.

  7. There is a canoe, paddle board, paddle boat and kayak available for your enjoyment. These water toys are to be kept in good condition and put back where they are found at the end of your stay. Please report any damage to us immediately. Any damage beyond normal “wear and tear” will result in the cost to repair will be deducted from your security deposit.

  8. Any damage to the property inside or outside of the cottage beyond the normal “wear and tear” will result in the cost to repair or replace will be deducted from your security deposit.

  9. There is a locked room in the basement containing personal items and cleaning supplies for our cleaner, this room is off limits to renters. Your entire security deposit will be forfeited if the lock or door to this room are tampered with or broken.

  10. There is a locked closet in the garage, containing personal items, there is nothing of value in there. This closet is off limits to renters. Your entire security deposit will be forfeited if the lock or door to this room are tampered with or broken.

  11. Please do not leave any food outdoors.

  12. Patio umbrellas must be lowered and tied during windy days, and at the end of your stay.

  13. We will provide 1 propane tank for your stay. You are responsible for refilling it if you need more during your stay. You do not need to refill it at the end of your stay.

  14. Life Jackets should be put back on the rack under the stairs in the basement. - If there is no fire ban active, you may have a campfire ONLY in the campfire ring located next to the bunkhouse near the water. If a campfire is started anywhere other than the designated fire pit, it will result in the forfeit of your entire security deposit.

  15. Be mindful of the county’s sound bylaws, no loud music before 8am or after 11pm.

  16. ABSOLUTELY NO FIREWORKS. 

Garbage and Recycling Instructions

There is no garbage service at the cottage. You must take your garbage with you at the end of your stay or you may use a one-time pass to dump your garbage are one of the various dump sites in Minden.

You are provided with “cottage kit” dump passes for your stay. The located in the binder by the Ice machine.

All Minden landfill sites are very strict about garbage and recycling.

All garbage (non recycling) must be put in clear bags only. These clear bags are located under the sink. Black garbage bags will be refused at all dump sites.

Recycling MUST be sorted into two (2) separate groups:

  1. Cans, plastic and glass

  2. Paper and Cardboard

You may put your recycling in the blue recycling bags, but they will need to be emptied once at the dump sites, they will not accept the recycling in the bags. You may also take the blue bins with you to dump the recycling, but they must be returned to the kitchen prior to your departure or you will forfeit your security deposit.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY GARBAGE OR RECYCLABLES AT THE COTTAGE AT THE END OF YOUR STAY OR YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT.
