3 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath Bungalow with Bunkhouse - Sleeps 10

The cottage is located on South Lake in Minden Hills. The cottage has a long driveway to fit multiple cars, a large yard with a volleyball net for a variety of sports. It is an accessibility friendly bungalow with stairs only to get to the basement, and to get from the lakefront deck down to the shoreline. On on either side of the cottage there are gradual slopes down to the waterfront side of the property.

The waterfront side of the cottage has a large deck leading to the main floor of the cottage with a basement walk out underneath it. The deck has a large dinner table for family style meals, and a sectional patio set with propane fire table - perfect for an evening drink and relaxation.

On the shoreline, you will find a Gazebo with table and chairs, a bonfire pit areas with muskoka style chairs, and an outdoor tv with a roku streaming box on the side of the bunkhouse for movies, tv shows, sports etc.

The shoreline is a sandy shallow walk in that gradually gets deeper as you go out. The lake has a silty bottom - not weeds or rocks to worry about!

  • During the winter the road is plowed, but 4x4 is strongly recommended.

  • The cottage is on the other side of the South Lake Trailer Park, on a dead end private road. It is NOT in the trailer park, and once at the cottage you will not even realize the trailer park is there.

  • The boat launch is located on trailer park property, and therefore you must pay the trailer park to launch and remove your watercraft ($10 in and $10 out).

  • The cottage has neighbours on both sides of the property and both have dogs. It is your responsibility, if you are bringing a dog with you, to ensure you dog remains on our property at all times. The properties are not fenced.

  • The lake is a landlocked lake, meaning it is not connected to any other lakes, or water systems.

  • There are shallow areas, specifically the alcove out to the right of the cottage, the trailer park beach front, and the waterfront across the lake in front of the newly built homes on the right.

General Information

Cottage is equipped with outdoor security cameras. There are no cameras inside the cottage. These are in place to ensure the safety of our renters, as well as our cottage. As owners, we reserve the right to view these cameras at anytime to ensure our property is safe, well maintained and that rules are adhered to.

Internet - The cottage has high speed Bell internet. The password is written on the fridge.

Thermostat (A/C and Heat) - The cottage has been switched over to a Google Nest Smart Thermostat, located just outside the main floor bathroom. PLEASE DO NOT TWIST THE THERMOSTAT. - To operate the thermostat, tap the right side of the thermostat with your finger, once it lights up, tap it again to see what mode it is in, whether it is heating (flame icon) or cooling (snow icon). Depending on your desired temperature you may need to change the mode it is in, by tapping the right side of the thermostat. Once you are in the correct mode, you can gently slide your finger up or down the right side of the thermostat to adjust the temperature in the cottage.

Smart TV’s - The living room and the outdoor TV on the side of the bunkhouse are smart tv’s with a variety of streaming services. You are welcome to use these streaming services, however, any purchases made within the streaming services will be deducted from your security deposit. Please ensure the remote is kept on the living room table and inside the tv enclosure unit at the end of your stay.

Ice Maker - Before using the ice maker on the kitchen counter, please ensure the drain plug is in the back of the machine snug and that there is enough water inside the machine. To add water just take a few cups from the kitchen sink and add directly inside the front of the machine up to the fill line. Hit power and wait roughly 10 minutes for ice to start being made. Please ensure the ice machine is turned off at the end of your stay.

Water - The tap water in the cottage is safe to drink, but we prefer to bring bottled water, as the water is high in sulphur.

Games/ Toys - There are various lawn games, balls, sports equipment in the garage, feel free to use any of it. Please make sure it is put back in the garage prior to your departure.

Neighbours

Mario and Olga (Cottage to the left when looking at the water) | Norman and Karen (Cottage to the right when looking at the water)

  • Please keep in mind that you are a guest at our cottage and our neighbours have every right to enjoy their property while you enjoy your stay at ours. With that in mind we ask that you please be polite and courteous to all our neighbours, including those in the trailer park down the road.

  • The swim platform out in the water is shared between our cottage and the blue cottage to the left.

  • Cottagers and renters are not allowed to use the beach at the end of the road. It is for the trailer park residents. Do not walk across the neighbours waterfronts to get there. - Both our neighbours have dogs, it is your responsibility to ensure your dogs remain on our property and do not cause problems with our neighbours dogs.

  • To the right side of the cottage is a community right of way. This is a pathway that cottagers across the road without waterfront access may use to go out on the water or sit at the dock. For the most part it is rarely used, but sometimes a couple may come down to go kayaking or out fishing. They are allowed to be there.

  • This is a motorized lake, and several of our lake neighbours have wakeboard boats and pontoons. If you are out in the non-motorized watercraft available for your use, please keep this in mind and steer clear of their boating paths. There are plenty of calmer areas on the lake for the non-motorized watercraft to enjoy.
